2011 Mercedes Benz A Class E Cell
Daimler introduced the Mercedes A Class E-CELL, which they say is an electric family car for urban areas. Mercedes A Class E-CELL is a five-seat compact battery-powered electric vehicle that can cover 200 km on a single charge, and which has a peak output of 95 HP (70 kW) and 290 Nm of torque.
After the B-Class car F-CELL-fuel cell, Mercedes-Benz has introduced the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class E-CELL as both an electric car built in series-production conditions. Five-passenger battery-powered electric drive meets all requirements for a family car for everyday use. This is based on five-door version of the Class-A right now, and comes with a generous interior and luggage room sizes for maximum flexibility. No compromise has been required in terms of space and variability, with a compact storage battery which is located very well protected and with a space-saving way in underbase vehicle.
Two high-efficiency cars lithium-ion batteries provide a range of more than 200 km (NEDC). The car is powered by a drive, a local peace-peak emission free electricity with output 70 kW (95 hp), developed a high torque of 290 Nm. A total production run 500-Benz A-Class Mercedes E-SEL cars will be built in Rastatt from autumn 2010. Vehicles will be leased to selected customers in several European countries, including Germany, France and the Netherlands.
